Festival Director/Producer

Mary Hall is the Founding Artistic Director of INTERSECTIONS

at the Atlas Performing Arts Center, Washington, DC.

This all-arts festival gathers innovative artists and richly diverse

audiences to expand what we share through the arts.  After heading

the festival from 2010 - 2015, she is now thrilled to consult

as it grows toward the future!

In collaboration with actor/sculptor Kevin Reese, Mary Hall produced, wrote and directed an internationally-acclaimed touring production, A Perfect Balance, a multi-media celebration of creativity and innovation inspired by the work of American artist Alexander Calder.  Kevin Reese now collaborates with communities across the US and abroad to create permanent installations of “moving art” with SchoolSculptures.

For the National Gallery of Art, Mary Hall has written, directed and produced two multi-media performances for family audiences. Who’s in the Hopper, a mystery in which two characters discovered their identity as “shadow” and “light,” complemented the 2007 retrospective of the work of Edward Hopper. Framed!, an adventure in which a comic book hero and figure from a Picasso painting set out to discover why they were popped into paintings, opened in 2012 as part of the Roy Lichtenstein retrospective. Mary Hall works with diverse organizations to envision ways in which the arts can deepen dialogue, connection,

understanding, and discovery.
